ALPHA DOGS 9   QUEENSBORO RIPTIDE 6

The Alpha Dogs completed the suspended game from last week by holding on to defeat the Queensboro Riptide. Substitute 1B Ed Longenecker contributed two hits including a single that drove in a big insurance run in the top of the 7th.  The Dogs remained in a statistical tie for first place with the ‘Canes who also prevailed.

HURRICANES 7   SEAHAWKS 2

WP Pate Southerland went 6 and 1/3 strong innings allowing only 2 runs in the last inning. Tim Whitehead came in with the bases loaded and 1 out to get the last two outs of the game on a 5-4-3 double play in recording the save. The Hurricane’s came out of the box scoring 4 quick runs in the first inning.  Seahawk’s starting pitcher Chris Natale held the Hurricane’s in check until  they scored another 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th. ‘Hawks 2B Ray Dixon made two defensive plays worthy of the highlight reel on Sportscenter.
